According to belief, paper lanterns can symbolize a lot of things. It can be a bridge to good omen, longevity, and good fortune. By lighting up a candle, its brightness illuminates the place. It eventually improves in style and color as time goes by.
On March 12, 2021, CJFI Pampanga demanded creativity as they inaugurated a paper lantern activity at the Center’s activity area. Ms. Josephine Layug, the Practical Skill and Development Officer, prepared the materials. And these are: construction papers, tracing papers, yarns, and sticks. The PSDO made the children use battery-operated candles instead of real ones to avoid accidents from happening. The children felt excited and fascinated at the same time. They watched Liziqi, a famous Chinese blogger, make Chinese lanterns. Their masterpiece is candidly magnificent. They can hardly wait for everyone to see it! A way where they can bring hope to every abandoned, neglected and deprived child all over the world.
The children learned to follow the instructions very carefully. They even sang the Rapunzel song “ I see the light” by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi while making the lanterns. It is visible in the eyes of the children the joy that they feel recreating their fantasy.
Sharing the light brings hope and inspiration. Just like paper lanterns, it only takes a single act of kindness for the proliferation of light.
