In dealing with safety, a person must be responsible. Alert and keen with the details that concern the safety of everyone. When is the time that a person is not safe? A person is in danger when there are hazardous objects everywhere. Any instrument that can harm or hurt an individual is a hazard. Security is not only physical. It also involves perceptions and emotions.
March 10, 2021, the CJFI Cebu family distinguished this month as safety versus jeopardy, the safety awareness month. The activity started around 10:00 a.m. with an opening prayer led by Minela Irish Mañacap (client). After introducing the topic, Ms. Ivy Jane P. Cortez, the facilitator, asked everyone about their opinion regarding safety. And how important it is to be vigilant at all times. While voicing out their thoughts, they include safety tips that they usually experience.
To add spice to the event, the host decided to instill the learning through games. The first one is called ‘Center Tennis. The ball must arrive on the other side of the tennis table via paper. The second is what we refer to as ‘Charades.’ A game in which players have to use nonverbal communication to play the word. The place was full of mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness, as the losing team’s consequences finally revealed themselves. The losing team will be splashed by water or with powder. They will receive the punishment depending on the player’s luck.
All participants enjoyed the game. It kept them alive and aware throughout the activity. Not just that, they also learned the wisdom behind taking their roles seriously to produce good results. It even brought them to the knowledge of prioritizing the life of many.
