Earthquakes are one of the most common emergencies that most have experienced. People would be caught off guard without early warnings of the seismic waves and magnitude that would impact. It is necessary to learn safety measures to retain safety.
An earthquake drill took place at the CJFI Pampanga on March 29, 2021. It was to show all the safety precautions they could take in case an earthquake occurs. Ms. Daphnee Lorraine A Mariñas, the facilitator, introduced the potential dangers to expect in an earthquake event. They were not only given an outline of the topic, but they were also allowed to practice the safety drills that they had just learned. Evacuating after an earthquake is imperative due to the potential danger of fires or explosions. They found out where to shelter and how to protect themselves from the falling debris.
The children and staff acquired new knowledge on how to react immediately and appropriately during emergencies. CJFI Pampanga is thankful for the lesson they have learned, especially the precautionary measures they have to take before and after earthquakes.
