Relief Operation in Isabela and Cagayan
After the successful visit and delivery of assistance in the areas of Marikina City and Rizal, CJFI in partner with the Sonshine Philippines Movement (SPM) and Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), the group next went to the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan Valley to distribute relief packages to the victims of Typhoon Ulysses in greater Luzon.
CJFI’s Founding President and Major Benefactor, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, led the CJFI, SPM, and SMNI to again conduct a series of Relief Operations in the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan on November 23-25, 2020. Almost 1000 families affected by the strike of Typhoon Ulysses in the country received a relief package.
Tumauini, Isabela is one of those flooded areas after the opening of the Magat Dam due to the effect of Typhoon Ulysses that struck the Luzon area. And so, CJFI is one of those who effectively reacts to an ideal opportunity to deliver help to our people in need amid disasters.
“Through Pastor Quiboloy, maraming-maraming salamat sa Children’s Joy Foundation, sa Sonshine Philippines Movement at sa SMNI na nandito ngayon covering the Relief Operation in our Municipality.” Mayor Arnold Bautista of Tumauini, Isabela
On the second day of the relief operation, the group arrived late at the venue due to heavy mud blocking the way resulting from the landslide in the area when the disaster passed. The road is slippery, which causes vehicles moving out and entering the areas to slide. Despite all that, the group was successful in reaching the town of Sitio Tuig, Baggao, Cagayan.
Sitio Tuig, Baggao, Cagayan Valley Region Mayor Joan Dunuan, “Sobrang thank you po ako. Natutuwa akong makita ang buong kababayan kong masaya, may ngiti sa labi tuwing may dumarating na biyaya.” “Kaya sobrang natuwa po ako dahil sobrang napakaramin pong gustong magbigay, mag-alay ng pagmamahal, mag-share ng tulong. And hopefully with all of these blessings that is pouring in sa amin, makakabangon po muli ang bawat isa at nabigyan ulit sila ng pag-asa at makapamuhay muli ng normal.”
It is pleasurable and heart-warming because everyone helps not only the volunteers but also the residents in handing out relief packages for them. The heart of Bayanihan of every Filipino led to the victorious relief operation in the said area.
The last area for the last day of the three-day operation that the group visited and offered assistance was in the town of Lal-lo, Cagayan.
Aside from crops and livelihood, the disaster also had an impact on schools in the province that damaged students’ and teachers’ things such as laptops, modules, printers, books, and cell phones that drove to the suspension of classes until the end of the year. The mayors of the mentioned towns personally expressed their gratitude for the blessings received by their countrymen from the group.
Meanwhile, the people of Cagayan and Isabela have warmly received the groups of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy after visiting the towns of Tumauini, Isabela, Baggao, and Lal-lo, Cagayan. A thousand families or approximately 5,000 individuals have brought new hope as they rise from the grief-stricken situation of life they had experienced due to Typhoon Ulysses.
From the long day of preparation to extend help for disaster victims, we thanked all the volunteers who sacrificed, committed and dedicated.
We also thank the sponsors: Galilee Purified Drinking Water and De Lara General Merchandise.
