It has been a tough time for the new Bataan people since the pandemic came. It takes hope to rise and fight. And it takes heart and courage to help.
On February 12, 2021, The Children’s Joy Foundation (CJFI), Jose Maria College, in partnership with MSN Foundation Cherry Mobile, and Ms. Heart Evangelista Escudero. The Big Heart PH project came to New Bataan to bring hope, especially to Online learners.
Bridging Online Learning Amidst New Normal
Sponsors traveled for at least four(4) hours to reach their destination, New Bataan. Compostela Valley municipality gave a warm welcome as the visitors entered the venue of the event. Ms. Jessielyn Bandalan RSW (CJF HRD Head) & Ms. Rovie Joy Belaya, RSW (CJF Davao Center SW), hosted the event. Ms. Marichel Eyog (CJF Deputy Director for Programs) also gave her opening speech, followed by another opening remark from Sir Genesis Silatan, (JMC Community Extension Officer). To address their needs for their online learning and activities. Fifteen (15) from grade twelve to college students are blessed to receive tablets, hygiene kits, and school supplies. CJFI received a lot of gratitude for being there for them in the past years since Bagyong Pablo.
Later on, Hon. Gerald Ford N. Balbin, New Bataan Mayor, arrived and gave his speech of gratitude towards the sponsors and benefactors who made an effort to make the event possible. He hopes that this act of kindness encourages these students to become excellent achievers, especially now that they have the resources to pursue their education.
CJFI and JMC are very thankful to BIG Heart PH and Cherry Mobile for trusting them to be part of the ‘Bridging Online Learning Amidst New Normal’ project. That has benefited the fifteen (15) beneficiaries of the municipality. And they are very honored to hand over the learning tablets, school supplies, and hygiene kits to the recipients personally.
