ABSNet Region XI Celebrates 17th Anniversary

The Area-Based Standards Network Region XI (ABSNet XI) celebrated its 17th year anniversary last March 29, 2017 at the Abreeza Ayala Malls.

With the same theme as last year’s anniversary, “Soar High towards Excellent Social Services”, more than 200 participants from five (5) different ABSNet XI Clusters (District 1, District 2, District 3, Davao del Sur and Davao del Norte) came to celebrate.

The motorcade kicked off at 9AM from Rizal Park passing through Bangkerohan, Matina and back to Ecoland, R. Castillo, Lanang and J.P Laurel towards Abreeza Ayala Malls. It was around 10.30AM when the group finally settled at Abreeza’s activity area.

The AVP presented during the event served as a tribute for the hardwork, genuine love and service, compassion, dedication and commitment of the people behind ABSNet Region XI to their respective clientele with the pledge to enjoin themselves in strengthening their social welfare services even more towards excellence.

Each district also presented intermission numbers and inter-generational (children, persons with disability, youth and senior citizens) presentations that captured everyone’s heart.

ABSNet XI President, Ms. Rosemarie Dimagnaong, reiterated ABSNets’ thrusts for the year 2017 such as the upcoming Business-NGO Forum to be held in September, the Japan Benchmarking activity in May, and the plans for membership and capability building, lobbying and related initiatives all for the betterment of Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWADAs) in the region. Dimagnaong challenged everyone to make ABSNet XI’s theme — a vision that will turn into reality through their participation and active involvement every step of the way.

DSWD Standards Unit Head and Social Welfare Officer IV, Mr. Fred Sy, seconded this call and gave his assurance that DSWD will always be ready to provide knowledge and needed assistance to ensure ABSNet’s continuous success this year and beyond. He ended his note with “Success is not measured by the accomplishment of one but the accomplishment of many — that’s how we differ from the others. We are a Team.”

With one heart and spirit, ABSNet Region XI will soar high towards its goals!
