On January 17, 2020, The Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. (CJFI) Pampanga, Laguna, and Quezon City assisted the distressed victims of the Taal Volcano eruption at Barangay IV Poblacion, Sto. Tomas North Central School, Batangas.
Spearheaded by Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, the Sonshine Philippines Movement (SPM), Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), Sonshine Radio, and Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. (CJFI) supported joined forces to extend help and give provision to the victims of the volcanic eruption.
Hundreds of people lined up for a pail filled with relief goods: rice, canned goods, noodles, biscuits, Pancit Bihon, coffee, milk, and five (5) gallons and 24 bottle-case (500ml) of mineral water with hot meals distributed.
Likewise, more than 300 children received coloring materials, bags, toy cars for boys, barbie and dollhouses for girls, sling bags, and stuff toys. They were excited and happy upon receiving their presents.
Apart from the relief goods, the evacuees were also given medical assistance as most of the infants and children in the evacuation site had a fever and needed medication.
Sto. Tomas, Batangas Mayor, Edna Sanchez, expressed her thanks to Pastor Apollo. “Lahat kami ay nagpapasalamat sa mga donation na dumarating. Yung mga tulong na binibigay sa bayan ng Sto. Tomas at kami ho ay talagang nakikita naming kung gaano kasama yung nangyaring ito. Kaya ako’y taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nag-donate at nand’yan si Pastor Quiboloy. Maraming-maraming salamat ho at malaking tulong ito sa ating mga evacuee.”
