CJFI Cavite promoted a child-friendly advocacy as beneficiaries and staff participated in an outreach program held at General Trias, Cavite last February 16, 2017.
Children from different schools and shelters participated in the event. It was hosted by the Cavite Provincial Council for the Protection of Children which aimed to empower the rights of children by means of imparting knowledge to the young and concerned citizens.
Cavite Governor and guest speaker, Hon. Jesus Remulla shared his support on the Child Protection Policy during the event. Remulla upheld the thought of effectively working with a child towards a “friendly Cavite”. Moreover, Remulla also shed light on the necessity of children’s rights through an interactive game with corresponding prizes for the beneficiaries.
The event was capped with another workshop on the issues faced by Caviteño children and the selection of provincial child representatives.
“Natutunan ko at nalaman ko aking mga karapatan bilang isang bata at ganun din sa ibang mga bata na kagaya ko. May karapatan din ako na maging boses ng aking kapwa bata, lalo na sa mga batang naabuso,(I learned about my rights being a child and so do the other children like me. I also learned that I can represent other children and voice out their concern especially those who are victims of abuse)” 12-year old beneficiary, Joseph Jadaone said.Written by: Marian L. Ambrocio
